The South Adams County Water and Sanitation District (the District) is a Colorado special district formed in 1951 to provide water and sanitary sewer services to a 65 square mile area now known as Commerce City and surrounding areas in unincorporated Adams County. With about 100 employees and an annual budget of $90,000,000, the District currently serves a population of approximately 65,000 customers and provides drinking water and wastewater treatment to its ratepayers. It recently constructed a $60 million-dollar centralized water softening treatment facilitating utilizing innovative technology.
